Help Coco Bean Heal Veterinary Care & Recovery

Hola! We are Bridie and Edy, the family behind Paz Medicinal Garden, and proud dog parents to our sweet Coco Bean.

On Wednesday, October 7th, Coco was hit by a car on the road just outside our home near La Fortuna, Costa Rica.

When Edy realized Coco was missing from our fenced outdoor garden, he began searching for him. What followed was a community effort and an afternoon of searching. Thankfully, Coco was found about 500 metres down the road, tucked beneath a neighbour’s outdoor grill area, crying and injured.

Edy took Coco to a local veterinarian in La Fortuna, and from there, Coco was transferred to a veterinary hospital, where he is now receiving the treatment and care he needs to heal.

The wound to his right hind leg, upper thigh and back is significant. Given the severity of his injuries and our humid rainforest climate, we believe the best place for Coco to recover right now is under the attentive care of the veterinary team.

🐾 Supporting Coco's Recovery

We are creating this donation page to help cover Coco’s emergency veterinary bills, ongoing hospital treatment, medications, wound care and recovery, both at the hospital and eventually at home.

This is just the beginning of his healing journey. As Coco progresses, his needs and care will naturally change, and we will continue sharing updates with our community.

We are also raising funds to replace the fencing around our home and Paz Medicinal Garden. Keeping our dogs safely within our property is essential to preventing another accident and protecting the our family.

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Whether you can donate a few dollars, share Coco’s story, or send a little love our way, we are deeply grateful.

Paz Medicinal Garden has always been a place of connection, care and respect for the living world. Now, we are asking our community to surround one of our own with that same kindness.
